Meeting of the UNBA International Relations Committee
On 31 August 2016 the UNBA International Relations Committee held a regular meeting. Mr Ivan Grechkivskyy, Head of the Committee, informed its members about the work of the Committee in July and August, particularly about the efforts of the Committee to draw the attention of the UNBA international partners to the problem of violation of advocates’ rights in Ukraine.
Following the discussion, the Committee decided to propose to the BCU to create representative offices in Spain and Turkey.
A letter about the threats to the independence of the bar of Malaysia was also discussed during the meeting.

In particular, the complaints relate to the inability to log in to the electronic office, which restricts advocates in exercising their procedural rights, in particular, to submit documents and participate in court hearings in the videoconference mode.

The price of a claim for minor disputes will be significantly reduced - draft law
The current amounts of the claim price (as a criterion for classifying a case as minor) are significantly higher than the subsistence minimum and minimum wage and do not correspond to the understanding of the case and the dispute in it as minor. Accordingly, they should be revised downward.
