The UNBA Committee on the ATO presented its activities report

The UNBA Committee on coordination of legal assistance to the ATO participants, their families and displaced persons prepared its Report on activities of members of the Committee in the period from April to October 2016.

As Head of the Committee Maria Ostrovska commented, the activities of volunteer advocates were directed at providing effective legal assistance, and identifying and addressing systemic violations of rights of the ATO participants. At the same time, assistance of some officials in the restoration of the rights and legitimate interests of the ATO participants was a pleasant surprise, since advocates usually may expect interference with their professional activities. Therefore, the Head of the Committee sent letters to the leadership requesting the commendation of the officials concerned. In particular, captain I. Andrushak, head of the medical service at the 23 Military Brigade, mail field V2830, V. Bondarenko, chief specialist of the Department of Social Security of the Odessa Regional Military Commissariat, and major O. Grebenyuk, head of the guardhouse of the Central Directorate of the Military Police, were mentioned.
