The EU will continue monitoring observance of advocates’ rights in Ukraine
The European Union will continue monitoring observance of advocates’ rights in Ukraine through its diplomatic office in Kyiv.
This was referred to in a letter of the European Foreign Service in its response to a letter of the UNBA/BCU President Lydia Izovitova to the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Frederica Mogherini. The UNBA informed key foreign partners of Ukraine about infringement of advocates’ rights and sent a thematic report "Violation of advocates’ rights and professional guarantees in Ukraine during the period of 2013-2016". Information contained in the report and concerns expressed therein were taken into consideration.
"We have carefully studied the facts brought to our attention in this report and note their importance. The EU supports reforms in Ukraine, especially reforms in the area of the rule of law and conformity with the best European and international practice", - referred to the letter.Popular news
