Public discussion on taxation of practice of law was held in Kharkiv. The event was jointly conducted by the UNBA and the Kharkiv Regional Bar Council.
The discussion was attended by the UNBA/BCU President Lydia Izovitova, the UNBA/BCU Deputy President Valentyn Gvozdiy, leadership of the Kharkiv regional bar self-government bodies and advocates from the region.
The discussion touched upon the practical implications of recent changes in the tax legislation relating to practice of law. The key speaker on the subject was Mr Gvozdiy, one of the leading experts on tax law in Ukraine.
The participants discussed the procedure for payment by advocates of the single social contribution in accordance with the latest changes in the legislation; payment of the SSC in case of termination of practice of law and absence of income; problematic aspects of termination of practice of law for the purpose of deregistration as a taxpayer and a self-employed person, and the grounds for exemption from payment of the SSC.
In addition, the participants discussed the issue of taxation of income of advocate who is a member of a bar union and issues of registration of an advocate as a taxpayer and individual entrepreneur and payment of the single tax.Popular news
