On 23 February 2017 the third meeting of the UNBA section on tax law was held.

The meeting was attended by V. Gvozdiy, the UNBA/BCU Deputy President, O. Protsyuk, Head of PwC practice on legal support of disputes, O. Mykhailyuk, lawyer from PwC Legal, V. Krasnyk, Head of the UNBA Secretariat, and O. Chapko, Deputy Head of the UNBA Secretariat.

The key topic of the meeting was the further implementation of initiatives to reduce a tax burden on advocates carrying out independent professional activity and who are registered as self-employed persons. According to the BCU decision no. 9 of 3 February 2017 "The issue of payment by advocates of a single contribution for the obligatory State social insurance", the BCU is seeking amendments to the Procedure of accounting of payers of taxes and revenues approved by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, in the part concerning deregistration of individuals who carry out independent professional activity and making amendments to the legislation, since Article 4 of the Law "On the collection and accounting of a single contribution for the obligatory State social insurance" is discriminatory against advocates.

The participants also discussed main directions of work of the section and topics of events to be held in 2017, as well as cooperation with professional organizations and foreign bars.
