Advocates are invited to participate in the program “Successful application to the European Court of Human Rights: from theory to practice” of the European Center for Legal Cooperation
The European Center for Legal Cooperation in collaboration with the Council of Europe will hold a 5-day training seminar on “Successful application to the European Court of Human Rights: from theory to practice” for advocates from 3 countries being the “leaders” in the number of complaints filed to the ECHR (Russia, Italy and Ukraine). The event will be held in Strasbourg (France) on September 18-22, 2017.
The seminar speakers will be the judges and lawyers of the ECHR, as well as the experts of the Council of Europe. All seminars are held in the national languages of the participants. In exceptional cases, the lectures can be given in Russian. The number of participants from each country is 100 people (number of participants is strictly limited). Since 2011 this program was attended by more than 2 000 advocates.

Admissibility criteria
Organization of the ECHR’s work. Ukrainian cases in the ECHR
Application of the ECHR’s legal positions when proving in Ukrainian criminal and civil proceedings
Application of interim measures by the ECHR (Rule 39) in cases involving deportation or extradition
Participation in the ECHR’s public hearings: simultaneous interpreting into Russian
Practical exercises in groups to review hypothetical situations
Role-playing trial. Homework. Group work

The registration fee for participation in a 5-day training seminar on “Successful application to the European Court of Human Rights: from theory to practice” is 760 Euros (covering participation in the seminar in the Council of Europe, simultaneous interpreting and working materials; excluding accommodation, meals and flight).
There is a special cost rate for the program participants on accommodation in 4* hotel within 10 minutes’ walk from the Council of Europe: 90 Euros per night (Single room) and 100 Euros per night (Twin / Double room).
