In Lviv there was conducted a training of the UNBA and the Council of Europe "Introduction to the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms"
On June 30, 2018, in the city of Lviv, the Ukrainian National Bar Association together with the Council of Europe, in the hall of the Innovative Legal Club "PRAVOCATOR", conducted a training for advocates according to an innovative educational course of the European training programs in the field of human rights called HELP "Introduction to the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms".
The event was opened by the President of the Bar Council of Lviv region Bogdan Pavlyshyn.
The trainers for the event were certified trainers of the Council of Europe, the UNBA experts Elena Sibiliova and Roman Martynovskii.
The event was attended by 27 participants (advocates, paralegals, trainees). The event was conducted using the methodology of HELP, interactive training programme of the Council of Europe, based on the experience of training of legal professionals.
The participants familiarized themselves with the online HELP program courses, work on the HELP platform, worked out the presentation themes "Introduction to the Convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms", took part in interactive tasks and solving problems. There were discussed in detail procedural issues of consideration of applications before the European court of Human Rights, the procedure for filling out an application form to be sent to the ECHR, submission of applications and petitions, admissibility criteria, procedure for consideration of cases in the ECHR etc.
The participants were subscribed to the appropriate training HELP course of the Council of Europe for in-depth study, mastering and further use in practice of the principles of the Convention standards. Further training of the event participants is conducted with the help of a remote course under the guidance of trainers. Upon completion of the course there will be held the second face-to-face meeting with the participants to discuss the subject, consolidation of results and issue of certificates of the Ukrainian National Bar Association and certificates of the Council of Europe to persons who successfully completed the course.
