UNBA exempted 350 attorneys from paying the fee

          Ukrainian National Bar Association (hereinafter – the “UNBA”) receives requests from attorneys regarding exempt them from paying the part of the fee for the implementation of attorneys’ self-government in 2021.

          Last year, the decision of the Bar Council of Ukraine (hereinafter – the “BCU”) № 22 established the categories of attorneys who are exempt from paying the annual fee for implementation of attorneys’ self-government.

          Based on this decision, the Head of UNBA and BCU Lydia Izovitova signed an order exempting 346 attorneys from paying 30% of the attorney's fee which should be transferred to UNBA. Requests were submitted by invalids of the I and II groups, liquidators of the Chernobyl accident of the I and II categories, participants of hostilities on the territory of other countries, and participants of the anti-terrorist operation and displaced persons.

          Approximately more than 150 other requests regarding exemption from paying the fee on these grounds are pending.

          To attorneys' attention! You can submit a request to UNBA until January 31 if you have documents that confirm you belong to such privileged categories. The procedure of submission of such request is provided here.
