UNBA representative took part in the XXI International congress on criminalistics

On September 18–20 2025, the XXI International congress on criminalistics «Criminalistics and forensic expertology: science, education, practice», was held in Gdańsk (Republic of Poland).

The conference was organized by: University College of Professional Education, Pomeranian University, Polish Criminalistics Society, Lithuanian Criminalistics Society, European Solidarity Centre, and Forensic Science Centre of Lithuania.

The UNBA was represented at the XXI International congress by the chairman of the UNBA Committee on expert support, doctor of law Violleta Fedchyshina.

The guest of honor at the event was Brunon Golist, distinguished professor, habilitated doctor, honorary doctor of the University of Bialystok (2011) and Nasarawa State University in Keffi (Nigeria, 2023). The University of Keffi awarded him the title of honorary professor and established the Institute of European Studies in his honor. He is also a consultant at the Higher School of Professional Education in Wrocław.

Brunon Golist specializes in criminology, criminalistics, and victimology. He holds professorships at the Warsaw University of Applied Sciences and the University of Siedlce, and is an honorary professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. He is the initiator and founder of the Polish Society of Criminalistics, honorary president of the Polish Society of Mental Hygiene, and president of the Polish Society of Suicidology. He is a member of numerous international scientific Committees and has lectured as a visiting professor in various countries on topics related to suicidology, victimology, and criminology.

During the congress, current issues were discussed, including:

• Human rights in the context of crime prevention.
• Forensic science – the link between criminology and other supporting disciplines.
• Modern technologies and artificial intelligence in criminology and forensic science.
• The specifics of operational and investigative activities in the fight against transnational crime.
• Crime scene investigation and other investigative activities: problems, trends, and prospects.
• Complementarity of criminal procedure, criminalistics, and forensic medicine in combating crimes against life and health.
• Academic institutions, law enforcement agencies, the media, and non-governmental organizations and their role in crime prevention.
• The contribution of non-governmental organizations to the development of criminalistics.
• The role of politics, theory, and philosophy of criminalistics in the fight against crime.
