Lidiya Izovitova received an award from the Czech Bar Association

On January 23, during the gala evening of the Lawyer of the Year 2025 competition in Prague, Monika Novotná, President of the Czech Bar Association (ČAK), presented Lidiya Izovitova, President of the UNBA, BCU, with the Order of the Czech Bar, an award for distinguished representatives of foreign bar associations.

«Lidiya Izovitova has consistently and fundamentally defended the independence of the legal profession in Ukraine for a long time, particularly in the extremely difficult conditions of martial law. She received the award from the Czech Bar Association for her personal courage and tireless efforts to defend the rule of law and support Ukrainian advocates during this exceptionally difficult time for her country», - reported ČAK.

The Order of the Czech Bar Association is awarded to distinguished representatives of foreign bar associations, judicial authorities, or civil service. The ČAK Board awards it to advocates and other individuals for their many years of dedicated work for the benefit of advocacy or for exceptional acts in support of law and democracy.

On the occasion of the gala evening, the Czech Bar Association also organized a roundtable meeting of the heads of foreign bar associations. In the first part of the program, participants exchanged information from individual jurisdictions, and ČAK representatives presented key changes to the law on advocacy, in particular regarding the strengthening of the duty of confidentiality, attorney deposits, and the practice of attorney trainees. The second part was devoted to the topic of artificial intelligence in advocacy and approaches to its use and regulation.

Representatives of bar associations from Germany, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Ukraine, Austria, and Japan accepted the invitation to the meeting.
