UNBA NextGen is strengthening its practical focus on working with young advocates

The UNBA NextGen has updated its membership and agreed on future priorities for working with young advocates, paralegals, and law students. The focus is on practical training, sharing experiences with established practitioners, strengthening regional cooperation, and ensuring professional safeguards for the legal profession.

These approaches were discussed during the latest strategic meeting, which was attended by regional representatives.

One of the key priorities for future work is educational initiatives focused not only on theory but primarily on the practical skills an young advocate needs at the start of their professional career. This involves creating additional mechanisms for professional exchange between young advocates and experienced members of the profession.

The Committee plans to strengthen its regional focus. «This approach should ensure more active involvement of young advocates from various regions in joint initiatives, professional networking, and events related to the development of legal practice», - noted Ihor Andriyev, chairman of the UNBA NextGen.

UNBA NextGen will pay particular attention to fostering a culture of adherence to the guarantees of legal practice and the protection of professional rights, as well as to engaging law students who view advocacy as their future career.

«The goal is to create an environment in which young lawyers, from their very first steps in the profession, will have the right guidance, practical tools, and an understanding of the standards of legal practice», - noted I. Andreyev.
