Tactical medicine for advocates: the UNBA holds a pilot training session |
|
The Ukrainian National Bar Association hosted a pilot «STOP THE BLEED» tactical medicine workshop for advocates, organized by the UNBA Committee on business and investor protection in collaboration with the «Pivnich» search and rescue service. The event, held on May 16, was part of a series of practical initiatives aimed at improving the safety and preparedness of the legal community in wartime conditions. The training was conducted by certified instructors following TECC/TCCC standards, who are representatives of the official NAEMT center in Ukraine. Participants gained basic knowledge and practical skills in tactical medicine and pre-medical care. During the training, advocates learned the protocol for assessing a casualty with massive bleeding, practiced applying tourniquets to themselves and others, and performed practical procedures to stop bleeding from major vessels. Special attention was paid to rescuer safety, particularly the physical, biological, and legal aspects. The organizers emphasized that today anyone can find themselves in a situation where human lives depend on quick and correct actions. That is why acquiring basic tactical medicine skills is extremely important. The event was a pilot program and was designed for the most active members of the professional community. The UNBA Committee on business and investor protection noted that the positive feedback received confirmed the need to continue holding such practical training sessions in the future. |
