The BCU has decided to convene the Sixth Congress of Ukrainian Advocates

On September 6, 2022, the Bar Council of Ukraine adopted a resolution to convene the Sixth Congress of Ukrainian Advocates.

The Bar Council of Ukraine approved the agenda for the Congress, which, in addition to the election of leaders of the highest body of bar self-government, includes the appointment of members of the High Council of Justice and the body responsible for holding prosecutors accountable through disciplinary proceedings.

The Bar Council of Ukraine approved the procedures for conducting the Congress and the organizational arrangements.

The leaders of the bar self-governing bodies, whose terms expire on November 17, 2022, will continue to exercise their powers based on the principle of continuity until new leaders are elected and the first meeting of the Bar Council of Ukraine in its new composition is held.

The Bar Council of Ukraine also adopted a resolution to convene regional advocates’ conferences to nominate and elect delegates to the Congress.
