Lidiya Izovitova met with the heads of two major international legal organizations

On September 5–6, 2022, a special session of the Bar Council of Ukraine is taking place in Mukachevo. At the invitation of the Ukrainian National Bar Association, President of the Council of European Bar Associations (ССВЕ) James MacGuill and Executive Director of the International Bar Association (IBA) Mark Ellis, have arrived to attend.

During a meeting with these distinguished guests, President of the UNBA, BCU Lidiya Izovitova outlined key issues concerning the development of advocacy, including the state of advocacy during the period of martial law.

During a session of the Bar Council of Ukraine, attended by the heads of regional bar self-governing bodies, President of the ССВЕ James MacGuill and Executive Director of the IBA Mark Ellis delivered reports and speeches. In particular, they thanked the UNBA for the transparent and timely distribution of funds received by the organization from international colleagues to assist Ukrainian advocates, and assured the UNBA of their continued support for the Ukrainian advocacy profession.

Members of the Bar Council of Ukraine, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the leaders of international organizations for their comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian advocates during the war.
