Meeting of the Kyiv City Bar Council

On 3 November 2016 the Kyiv City Bar Council held a meeting devoted to organizational issues of the newly elected composition of that body. The meeting was also attended by Mr Sergiy Vylkov, Chairman of the Kyiv City Audit Commission of the Bar.

The participants discussed the conduct of a meeting of advocates from Kyiv on 5 November, which was called by its organizers a “conference of advocates from Kyiv”, contrary to the law and decisions of the higher self-government body of the bar.

Pursuant to the BCU decision, a regional conference of advocates is conducted in accordance with the quota of representation, order of nomination and election of delegates to the regional conference of advocates, and rules of procedure, all determined by the BCU. In June the Bar Council of Ukraine planned a conference of advocates from Kyiv, which was opened on 6 August and concluded its work on 8 October.

During the meeting, the participants also discussed the reporting documents on the activities of the previous management of the KCBC and the Kyiv City Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar. Later, the Chairman of the Audit Commission presented the documents from the last audit.
