Advocate's fee in 2024: BCU reminded the amount |
|
![]() The annual contribution to ensure the implementation of the bar self-government is traditionally tied to the amount of the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons established as of January 1 of the relevant calendar year. Its amount (one subsistence minimum) was determined back in 2022 for the next two years (2023 and 2024). The relevant decision No. 135 dated 16-17.11.2022 was reminded during the regular meeting of the Bar Council of Ukraine, which is taking place today, December 15, in Uzhhorod. Article 7 of the Law «On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024» stipulates that as of January 1, 2024, the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons shall be set at UAH 3,028. Accordingly, this is the total amount of the contribution to the bar self-government paid by attorneys. Taking into account the requirements of the Regulation on these contributions (decision of the BCU No. 4 of February 3, 2017), the payment of the contribution is a professional obligation of the advocate. This obligation must be fulfilled by January 31, 2024, by transferring funds in two payments to the bank accounts of the bar self-government bodies according to the following distribution:
Advocates can independently generate receipts for online payment of the fee in their personal account on the UNBA website. Some advocates (in particular, persons with disabilities, Chernobyl victims and temporarily displaced persons) can count on exemption, reduction or deferral of the fee. To do this, they need to submit the relevant applications by the end of this year. For more details, please follow the link. |
