BCU summons head of HQDCB for report
The Bar Council of Ukraine has summoned Serhiy Vilkov, the Head of the High Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar, to report on certain issues of the Commission's activities.
The relevant decision was made by the BCU during the closed part of the meeting, which is taking place on June 7-8 in Zakarpattia.
As a reminder, in accordance with Article 52 of the Law «On the Bar and Practice of Law», the High Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar is controlled and accountable to the Congress of Advocates of Ukraine and the Bar Council of Ukraine.
The HQDCB examines complaints against decisions, actions or inaction of the qualification and disciplinary commissions of the Bar, summarizes the disciplinary practice of the QDCB, and performs other functions in accordance with the Law.
The Head of the HQDCB represents the Commission in state authorities, local self-government bodies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, and before citizens.
His powers include convening and holding meetings, distributing duties among his/her deputies, organizing and ensuring record keeping, managing funds and property of the HQDCB in accordance with the approved budget, as well as performing other actions provided for by the Law «On the Bar and Practice of Law», the Regulations on the HQDCB, decisions of the CU and the Congress of Advocates of Ukraine.
