Advocates will be involved in the functional audit of the UJITS |
|
![]() The technical audit of the Unified Judicial Information and Telecommunication System (UJITS) revealed a number of critical problems. The next step will be a functional audit, which will involve lawyers, among others. Denys Maslov, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy, spoke about the prospects for updating the concept of the electronic court during a roundtable at the Supreme Court, Judicial and Legal Newspaper reports. The event was devoted to the presentation of Opinion No. 26 (2023) of the Advisory Council of European Judges «Moving Forward: The Use of Assistive Technology in Judicial Proceedings». The MP acknowledged the problems caused by the architecture of the UJITS, as well as the insufficient quality of services. At the same time, he called the introduction of electronic offices a difficult political, but necessary step (recently, the UNBA drew attention to technical failures in the work of the E-Court subsystem, namely, problems with authorization in the electronic office). According to Mr. Maslov, the technical audit of the UJITS has already been completed. A number of critical problems were identified and practical steps were taken to make it more stable and secure. Next, a functional audit will be conducted, involving court staff, lawyers, and representatives of pre-trial investigation agencies. After that, a new concept of e-justice will be prepared, and a new system and its subsystems will be developed. Among the expected improvements, the chairman of the relevant committee named the possibility to familiarize oneself with the case file (similar to paper files, using hyperlinks and bookmarks), automatic determination of the date of entry into force of a court decision, and availability of court statistics. |
