Project Legal Alarm will participate in the international contest among the best legal startups
The Project “Legal Alarm” was short-listed in the international competition among the best legal startups – HiiL Justice Accelerator, organized by the Hague Institute for Innovation with the purpose of improvement of access to justice in Ukraine and throughout the globe.
Legal Alarm contains a number of free tips and guidelines to help protect one’s rights during the search, interrogation and detention. Pressing on the button allows to call an advocate to a specific place of a person at the time of crisis, as well as to give an alarm through social networks. Technical support of this application is provided by the Law Office Juscutum.
The BCU approved the intention to introduce a mobile application Legal Alarm. The tool of prompt legal assistance during problems with law enforcement agencies will be used for transmission of urgent messages about breaches of advocates’ rights to regional bar councils.
According to the organizers of the competition, in September a conference will be held in Kyiv, in which legal startups of Ukraine will present their ideas. After that, the best among them, along with other participants from around the world will present their projects in The Hague, where the contest results will be summed up. Winners will receive up to 160,000 euro in grants, expert assistance and advice.
