Two bar history rooms opened in Odesa

On October 9, 2017, at the initiative of the Academic and Methodological Centre for Research on the Bar and Law at the Ukrainian National Bar Association, two bar history rooms were opened at the National University “Odessa Law Academy”, namely, the Ukrainian bar history room and Odesa Region bar history room.

The Head of the UNBA Centre for Research on the Bar and Law, the Vice-Rector of the UNBA Higher School of Advocacy Iryna Vasylyk and the Vice-Rector of the National University “Odessa Law Academy” Halyna Ulianova have officially opened the rooms by ribbon cutting.

The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Advocacy Yevhen Khyzhniak, the Head of Department of Judicial, Law Enforcement Authorities and Bar, advocate Nana Bakaianova, the Chairman of the Bar Council of Odesa Region Yosyp Bronz, the Deputy Chairman of the Bar Council of Odesa Region Andrii Kostin, members of the QDC of Odesa Region, advocates of Odesa Region and students of the Faculty of Advocacy of all years of study.

After the ceremonial opening of the rooms a round table of advocates and scholars took place, where the most important issues of the future of the bar, its history and further development were discussed. The participants of the round table discussion adopted a resolution envisaging the continuation of further research on the history of bar by advocates, scientists, students and postgraduate students of the University, the preparation of monographs on the history of Odesa Region bar and individual monographs within the UNBA’s series called “Advocates’ Biography”, and conducting joint events on the history of bar and law.
