The Head of the UNBA and the Head of the President of Ukraine Commission on the Legal Reform have discussed the tax simplification for attorneys
The Head of the Ukrainian National Bar Association (hereinafter – the UNBA) and the Head of the President of Ukraine Commission on the Legal Reform have discussed the preparation of the amendments to legislation on the taxation for attorneys.
Lydia Izovitova and Serhii Ionushas have talked over the next steps on implementation of the Justice System Development Strategy and the UNBA`s action strategy up to 2025. The practical implementation of two strategic documents will need consolidated efforts for the amendment of valid legislation.
In this regard, the UNBA has already prepared proposals (amendments) to the Tax Code of Ukraine on the taxation of income received by an individual engaged in independent professional activity. For instance, the proposals refer to the attorney`s right to pay the taxes under the simplified taxation system and pay a single tax of the relevant group. By submitting such an initiative, the UNBA seeks to eliminate the discriminatory position of attorneys comparing to entrepreneurs who can work under the simplified taxation system. In early July, the UNBA has sent relevant proposals to the Head of the President of Ukraine Commission on the Legal Reform to further promote them to the Head of State, who will be able to submit such a bill to the Verkhovna Rada as part of the implementation of the Justice System Development Strategy.
