The UNBA honored the winners of the «In the language of prose» contest and opened a fashion exhibition
The competition was organized by the UNBA Committee on humanitarian issues and creative initiatives in cooperation with the Center for advocacy and legal research. Two dozen advocates from various regions of Ukraine submitted their works to the competition committee for consideration. The entries were evaluated based on originality, the relevance of the chosen topic and the level of technical skill.
Awards were presented to the authors who placed first through third in the «Essay», «Short story» and «Satirical piece» categories.
In the «Essay» category, the winner was Yulia Nimets with her essay «And is the truth even necessary?». Second place went to Marina Sukhaya for her essay «Solomon’s decision» and third place to Vadym Chaika for his piece «Nausea».
Among the short story authors, first place went to Volodymyr Bondar for his story «The price of an algorithm». Second place went to Andriy Osipov for his short story «Yin and yang» and third place went to Oleksandra Tiprova for «The village stories of Savelii Grach».
In the «Feuilleton» category, first place went to Serhiy Ostryk for his piece «Heart in the crosshairs». Second place was awarded to Olena Prybitkova for «The tale of Mobik» and third place to Mykhailo Mozhaev for «An advocate’s notes».
A separate part of the event was the opening of the fashion exhibition «Beauty made by hand», dedicated to jewelry and hats. It was presented by chairman of the UNBA Committee on humanitarian issues and creative initiatives Natalia Plisa and a member of the Committee’s Council Tamila Aleksyk.
The best entries are scheduled to be published in a new anthology of advocates’ prose. To help design the book, advocates created Cubist-style paintings during a creative workshop held earlier.
This will be the second book of literary works by advocates published as a result of a prose contest. The first contest, “A Personal Perspective,” resulted in a collection of short stories, essays, and novellas titled «My advocate’s diary», which was presented in 2024.
