In September Kyiv City Bar Council has held 6 free seminars for professional development
Kyiv City Bar Council continues to hold event for professional development for advocates of the capital.
Thus, in September Kyiv City Bar Council had organized organized 6 free seminars, which were attended almost 300 advocates. For taking part in this events they have got a certain amount of points.
On September 3rd Kyiv City Bar Council held a seminar on topic «Appeal to the European court of Human Rights as an element of the protection tactic during pre-trial investigation». Speaker of the event was Head of the Committee on approximation of Ukrainian legislative system to european legal standard, member of Kyiv City Bar Council Alexander Dyl’skiy. Seminar on the same topic was also held on October 2nd.
On September 5th with the assistance of Kyiv City Bar Council were held 2 events on topic «Defamation disputes: strategy and tactic of protecting clients’ interests by an advocate» by the advocate Yuriy Demchenko, and «Restorative justice as a mechanism of effective protection of client’s interests» by the advocate Alena Pomazanovska.
On September 12th Kyiv City Bar Council organized a seminar on topics «Ethical F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions) in legal practice», the narrator of it was the Head of the Committee on legal ethics UNBA, member of Kyiv City Bar Council Andriy Tsygankov, and «Protection of guarantees in legal practice by Kyiv City Bar Council during the search of advocates’ working places»-the narrators were members of RamK Volodymyr Klochkov and Yevhen Yakima.
On September 18th Kyiv City Bar Council gathered all lawyers to the seminar on «Customs law: protection of client’s interests in cases of violation of customs law» and «Rules of legal ethics in tge countries of European Union». The lectors were advocate Denis Diomkin and the head of the Centre on research of advocacy and law within the framework of project «History of advocacy in Ukraine» Irina Vasylyk.
On September 19th Kyiv City Bar Council held a seminar on topic «Trial Expertise and commercial arbitration». The organizers of it were Expert-legal group «Independent Institute of trial expertises» together with Qualification-disciplinary committee of Kyiv City advocacy and European Arbitration Chamber. The event consisted of two main blocks. The speakers were professional courts experts, which had been accredited by Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and have perennial experience in expertise work.
On October 2nd Kyiv City Bar Council organized a seminar on topic «Ethical aspects of legal practice in 1970-1989s». The lector was experienced advocate, the Head of elders’ council in UNBA, perennial leader of qualificational-disciplinar committee of advocates in Kyiv region Galyna Kovbasinska.
On October 7th Kyiv City Bar Council plans to hold 2 events on professional development. Their topics will be «Appeal to European court of Human Rights as an element of protection tactic during pre-trial investigation» and «Standards of organization and professional legal practice. Changes to the Rules of legal ethics from 15.02.2019» The speakers will be the Head of…UNBA Alexander Dylskyi and the Head of the elders’ committee in UNBA Galyna Kovbasinska.
In the nearest time Kyiv City Bar Council will announce new free events for the refreshment training. The announcement about their location are situated on the website of Centre of accreditation HAS UNBA.

The Bar Council of Ukraine has concluded that, in its recent decisions, the High Council of Justice has, without legal grounds, called into question the right of bar self-governing bodies to protect the guarantees of legal practice and has, in effect, attempted to grant one of its members — who retains the status of an advocate — special immunity from the Rules of professional conduct and disciplinary responsibility.
