Advocates propose adding an FLA service for veterans to Diia

The Ukrainian National Bar Association has appealed to the Ministry of Digital Transformation to expand the functionality of the Veteran PRO section in the Diia application. The appeal concerns adding the possibility for veterans to access free secondary legal aid through digitized services and the interoperability of registries.

The goal of the initiative is to ensure the proper and effective implementation of war veterans' right to free legal aid.

We would like to remind you that, in accordance with paragraph 17 of part 1 of Article 14 of the Law «On Free Legal Aid», war veterans and family members of deceased (deceased) war veterans, family members of deceased (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, and persons who have rendered special services to the Fatherland.

Free secondary legal aid includes the following types of legal services:

1) defense;

2) representation of the interests of persons entitled to free secondary legal aid in courts, other state bodies, local self-government bodies, and before other persons;

3) drafting of procedural documents.

The state-owned commercial enterprise Diia is under the management of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Among the main activities of the enterprise is the provision of electronic services, including administrative and other public services, with the receipt and use, if necessary, of information from national electronic information resources.
