Open dialogue between the UNBA and the European Commission on the path to EU
The Ukrainian National Bar Association held a working meeting in Brussels with Mr Wolfgang Nozar, Head of Unit for Governance, Rule of Law and Financial Assistance, Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST), European Commission.
During the meeting, the participants discussed UNBA’s plans in the context of implementing the Rule of Law Roadmap. An open and structured dialogue was highlighted as a key factor contributing to Ukraine’s accession negotiations with the European Union, to aligning Ukrainian legislation fully with EU acquis and to an informed decision-making processes throughout the reform process.
President of the UNBA,BCU Lidiya Izovitova presented the concrete steps already taken by the UNBA. UNBA reaffirmed its full consistent support for the Ukrainian state on its path to European Union while firmly upholding the independence of the Bar.
