Chairman of the HQDCB S. Vilkov resigned from his post
The Bar Council of Ukraine has granted the application of Serhiy Vilkov to resign as the Chairman of the High Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of the Bar.
The relevant decision was made by the Bar Council of Ukraine at its meeting on November 15.
S. Vilkov reminded that he started working in the bar self-government bodies in 2016, when he was elected as the Chairman of the Kyiv City Bar Audit Commission. For three years, he worked as the chairman of the Legal Aid Committee, after which the Congress of Advocates elected him Chairman of the HQDCB. Today, he is also a practicing attorney and a senior researcher and lecturer at the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University.
«It's probably time to move on. I have been thinking about this for the last year and made the appropriate decision. I have prepared a statement to the Bar Council of Ukraine, by which I voluntarily resign as the Chairman of the HQDCB», - he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the HQDCB, Andriy Misiats, will continue to act as the Chairman of the High Commission. The majority of the Bar Council of Ukraine members voted for this decision.
According to Art. 52 of the Law «On the Bar and Practice of Law», the Chairman of the HQDCB represents the Commission in state authorities, local governments, enterprises, institutions, organizations, and before citizens.
The Chairman of the HQDCB also ensures the convening and holding of meetings of the Commission, distributes responsibilities among his deputies, organizes and ensures the maintenance of records in the HQDCB, manages the funds and property of the Commission in accordance with the approved budget, performs other actions provided for by law, the Regulations on the HQDCB, decisions of the BCU and the Congress of Advocates of Ukraine.
