Advocates shared their life hacks for organizing the workplace

A successful lawyer is always organized and responsible. He is a pillar of support and a center of calm for his client. The effectiveness of his work often depends not only on knowledge and skills, but also on the order in the workspace.
How to organize the space properly, what tools and methods can increase productivity - these were the topics discussed at the webinar «Organization of the workplace of an analyst attorney: life hacks and practical tips», which was recently held at the Ukrainian National Bar Association.
«A document found in time, a logical case storage system and a comfortable workplace help to avoid chaos, save time and focus on the main thing - protecting the rights and interests of clients», - said Ivanna Blokhina, moderator of the event, representative of the UNBA NextGen in Odesa region.
Advocate Serhiy Ivanov spoke about the purpose and process of organizing a workplace. He outlined the benefits of electronic document management with the storage of completed cases in an electronic archive, and described the advantages of using a laptop with a monitor to equip a desktop. The lawyer also provided advice on choosing the format of an electronic document for work and storage, reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of organizing a workplace based on Linux, Windows and MacOS operating systems, and drew attention to the importance of synchronizing hardware and software throughout the office when organizing each workplace. Separately, S. Ivanov focused on the basics of working with artificial intelligence and basic mobile applications for file conversion, automation of entering information about court hearings into the work schedule.
Yulia Goncharenko, the regional representative of the UNBA NextGen in Odesa region, drew attention to the use of mobile applications for systematizing cases and scanning documents. She also shared some life hacks in using programs and applications. In particular, she emphasized the peculiarities of using databases and state registers, as well as the rules for searching for case law. The lawyer emphasized the importance of forming a «lawyer's work bag»: preparing templates of procedural documents, draft comments on detention and search protocols, memos on rights for clients, and reporting. In addition, she provided advice on the need to systematize cases, the time of archival storage, and concluded that self-organization and self-discipline are important.
