The Ukrainian National Bar Association has revised the terms of participation in the project «Supporting the mental health of Ukrainian advocates during the war». Effective immediately, the promo code for individual psychotherapy sessions on the Rozmova platform is 4,000 UAH instead of 1,000.

As a reminder, the project is implemented by the UNBA with the support of the International Bar Association (IBA) and has been active since November 2024. It was launched as a tool to provide practical support to advocates who, in the context of war, face emotional exhaustion, anxiety, professional burnout, and a need for professional psychological assistance.

As part of the project, advocates can submit an application via the project website and receive a promo code for individual sessions with a psychotherapist, which can be used on the Rozmova platform. The amount can be used for a single session or divided among several sessions — depending on the cost of the selected specialist’s services. If the cost of the sessions exceeds the value of the promo code, the advocate pays the difference out of pocket.

As project coordinator Hanna Udovenko explained, the decision to increase the support amount is linked to the rising cost of sessions with therapists and the desire to maintain the actual accessibility of this assistance for advocates who need it. «When the UNBA launched this project, its goal was to provide advocates with practical, rather than merely declarative, support. Today, we are updating the terms so that this assistance remains effective: a promo code worth 4,000 UAH offers more opportunities to receive a substantial amount of individual therapeutic support», - she explained.

The project «Supporting the mental health of Ukrainian advocates during the war», in addition to individual therapeutic support, also includes online psychoeducational events where advocates are taught methods for managing mental health and building resilience. These psychoeducational events are free of charge. Video recordings are posted on the UNBA YouTube channel after the events conclude.

For reference. Rozmova is a platform for finding psychologists and psychotherapists, through which users can select a specialist, book a session, and communicate with them via chat in their personal account. According to the platform itself, it brings together over 500 therapists, operates in more than 5 countries, and has already served over 100,000 clients. The service offers both online and in-person sessions.

The Bar Council of Ukraine has concluded that, in its recent decisions, the High Council of Justice has, without legal grounds, called into question the right of bar self-governing bodies to protect the guarantees of legal practice and has, in effect, attempted to grant one of its members — who retains the status of an advocate — special immunity from the Rules of professional conduct and disciplinary responsibility.
