10 women advocates received the UNBA Award for the contribution to the development of the profession
To mark the holiday of March 8, UNBA awarded 10 women advocates for the significant contribution to the profession and strengthening the authority of the Bar.
The advocates were awarded by the Head of the UNBA, BCU Lidia Izovitova.
Honorary awards of UNBA were given to Ganna Boryak, Head of the Committee on protection of advocates’ professional rights and guarantees, Tetiana Hnatiuk, Deputy Head of the Committee on protection of human rights, and Victoria Sviatotska, Deputy Head of the Committee on professional development.
The badges “Prominent Advocate” were awarded to the Head of the Committee protection of human roghts Anna Kolesnik, editor-in-chief of the “UNBA Journal” Vira Kozina, Head of the Bar Labour Union Nadia Korinna, Head of the Committee on provision of legal aid to ATO participants Maria Ostrovska, Head of the Committee on medical and pharmaceutical law and bioethics Iryna Seniuta, Head of the Committee on professional development Olena Sibiliova, Head of the UNBA Committee on the rule of law Maryna Stavniychuk.

One third of complaints to the UNBA are due to unlawful actions by the TCC
In the first half of 2025, the Committee for the protection of lawyers' rights and guarantees of advocacy of the Ukrainian National Bar Association recorded 46 complaints of violations of professional rights. A third of these concerned unlawful actions by territorial recruitment centers—systematic obstruction of advocacy or violation of the right to defense.
