There are almost 55,000 people in the legal community
As of February 10, 2020, 54,840 persons have been added to the Unified Register of Attorneys of Ukraine. Of these, 41677 are current advocates, 13163 have suspended / discontinued activities.
This was reported by Deputy Head of UNBA and BCU Valentyn Hvozdii during a meeting of the Bar Council of Ukraine on February 14.
Thus, since the beginning of the year, 1,080 people have joined the advocacy community. Over the course of 2019 alone, over 8,000 new human rights activists have been certified as advocates.
As Valentyn Hvozdii noted, the tendency is to increase.

Article 110 of the Criminal Enforcement Code guarantees convicted persons confidentiality of meetings with their advocate.
