The Bar Council of Ukraine starts a regular meeting
Today, on September 20, a two-day meeting of the Bar Council of Ukraine begins in Zakarpattia.
According to the draft agenda, the members of the BCU plan to consider the activities of the Ukrainian National Bar Association and bar self-government bodies, the organization of disciplinary procedures, the maintenance of the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine, and to provide explanations on requests for clarification on certain aspects of the practice of law.
The topics of discussion will include:
- filling out an order for legal aid, in particular, entering details about the applicant for the service;
- advanced training of attorneys and their assistants, including exemption from such obligation;
- protection of confidential information;
- methods of notification within the framework of the disciplinary procedure of an advocate whose workplace is located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
The Bar Council will also consider draft amendments to a number of acts:
- The Rules of the HQDCB, the Rules of the QDCB and the Regulations on the Procedure for Receiving and Considering Complaints Regarding Improper Conduct of an Advocate that May Result in Disciplinary Liability;
- Procedure for maintaining the URAU (in terms of generating an extract through the personal account);
- Regulations on the Order of the Attorney for the Provision of Legal Assistance (regarding the form of the order in English for use outside Ukraine);

All cases of unlawful refusal to provide information at the request of lawyers, the requests of the QDCB, their chambers or members will be recorded in the Register of applications (appeals) on administrative offenses.
