The Bar Council of Ukraine has simplified the form of the order

The number of the Ukrainian advocate's certificate, who issued it and when, shall be excluded from the details of the legal aid order form.
The relevant amendments to the Regulations on the Order for the Provision of Legal Assistance, approved by the BCU decision No. 41 dated April 12, 2019, were made by the Bar Council of Ukraine during its meeting on June 7, which is taking place in the Khmelnytskyi region.
Recall that according to Article 26 of the Law «On the Bar and the Practice of Law», one of the documents certifying the authority of an advocate to provide legal assistance may be an order. It is issued by an advocate, a law firm, or a bar association. The standard form of the order is approved by the BCU.
Order forms, in accordance with the approved standard form, are generated in the relevant section of the Personal Account of the Advocate on the official website of the UNBA, following the system commands. The generated orders are automatically recorded by the electronic database management system of the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine. The history of order generation is displayed in the corresponding section of the Personal Account of the Advocate.
Advocates, law firms or law offices initiate the generation of orders accordingly from advocates practicing individually, heads (authorized persons) of law firms, law offices through the official website of the UNBA, in the regional bar council, or, as an exception in cases provided for by the BCU, directly to the UNBA.
The relevant technical changes will be made to the system in the near future. This instruction was given to the UNBA Secretariat by Lidiya Izovitova, the President of the UNBA, BCU.
«About forty thousand advocates currently use the order generation service. The decision to remove the details of the certificate from the order form is aimed at eliminating unnecessary bureaucratic requirements without compromising the identification of the advocate. We strive to make the UNBA's electronic services even more convenient for the daily practice of our colleagues, while maintaining proper accounting and control through the URAU, - commented Valentin Gvozdiy, Vice President of the UNBA, BCU, on the changes. - This is a minor amendment that will make it easier for advocates to obtain powers to provide legal assistance».
