Advocates must check electronic offices

Advocates should check the availability of personal accounts for professional development on the platform of the HSA Accreditation and Certification Center and certificates of professional development from 2019 to 2023, as well as personal electronic accounts on the UNBA website in the near future. In case of absence of the accounts, lawyers will have to register them by August 4.
This follows from the decision of the Bar Council of Ukraine dated 08.06.2024 No. 34, which was published on July 4.
The decision of the UNBA also introduced relevant amendments to the Procedure for Advanced Training of Advocates of Ukraine and the Procedure for Maintaining the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine.
The term of one month from the date of receipt of the certificate of the right to practice law and taking the oath of the Ukrainian Bar for registration is established for new advocates:
- personal e-cabinets for professional development - on the platform of the HSA Accreditation and Certification Center;
- for registration of advocates' personal electronic offices - on the UNBA's website.
Pursuant to Article 21 of the Law «On the Bar and Practice of Law», an advocate is obliged to improve his or her professional level while practicing law. The Higher School of Advocacy issues an appropriate electronic certificate to advocates who have fulfilled the requirements for advanced training. It is sent to the advocate's e-mail address. The information is also entered into the Unified Register of Advocates of Ukraine.
